This course is a deep dive into the fundamental principles of Ayurveda and its application in the modern life.

This course is a Pre-requisite for AHC (Ayurvedic Health Counselor Course)

Ayurveda emphasizes on maintaining the natural wellbeing and prevention of dis-ease. By understanding how our inner physiology alerts us through subtle changes happening in our bodies, one can gain the balance relatively at an earlier stage of dis-ease.
Most of the physical and psychological imbalances stem from challenged lifestyle and emotional instability. Studying Ayurveda guides us step by step in understanding ourselves and those around us better.

1. Who can take this course: Anyone who is ready to dive in deep to learn the Philosophical Physical, Mental and Spiritual perspective of Maintaining health.
2. What is needed: Students must have access to a computer with camera and microphone, internet connection, and the ability to join video conferences.
3. When does the course Start: January 5th, 2022.
4. When does the course End: June 5th, 2022. (If you are unable to commit for 6 months call and check how to register for Monthly classes)
5. What times are the classes conducted: Every Wednesdays 6pm-10 pm and on Saturday in each month of Feb, March and April, See the schedule below

March: Wednesdays- 2,9,16,23,30 + Saturday 12th (8 am- 2pm)

May: Wednesdays- 4,11,18,25
June: 1 & Weekend of 4 & 5th (8 am- 2 pm)
6. On completion of Course: Students receive the certification of completion. Students who plan to enroll in AHC must pass the Mid Term and get admitted to the next 10 months of AHC curriculum Starting September 2022

Course Details:
AY 101 – History and Fundamentals of Ayurveda – 20 hoursThis module explores the 5000-year history that has contributed to the orderly development of science of Ayurveda. The course imparts in depth knowledge of congregation of different medicinal and therapeutic information in Vedas. Detailed knowledge of various spiritual influences, deities, and sages along with their philosophical contributions to development of Ayurveda. Also, helps to understand the legendary origin of Ayurveda from various classical texts. This course is designed to inform the students about the Archeological evidence and Manuscript references in support of the historical events. The course also updates the student with the current status of Ayurveda globally especially its role in healthcare industry in western countries.

AY102 – Anatomy & Physiology – 32 hours
Students will learn the terminology and anatomical functional structures.
Detailed study of Purusha, Embryological development, pramana Shareera (measurements), Indirya Shareera (Sense organs) and Marma Shareera (vital points), Koshtha Ashaya and Kala Shareera (Spaces and Membranes). This module will focus on human physiological systems and how they are affected by body work modalities. Detailed attention will be given to Dosha, Dhatu, Mala, Agni, Strotas, Prana Tejas and Ojas.

103 – Ayurvedic Assessment & Constitutional Analysis – 16 hours
Ayurveda concept of Prakruti (Body type) is taught in this section. Every person has a different body make up and the health depends on each individual’s approach towards maintaining this doshic balance. Knowing the Prakruti and assessment of imbalances is the focus in this module.
104 – Introduction to Devanagari and Ayurvedic Sanskrit Terminology- 12 hours
This course provides the basic understanding of Devanagari script and Ayurvedic terminology to learn Ayurvedic Medicine, its Philosophy, and concepts. A specific emphasis is given on pronunciation and Chanting Ayurvedic Verses from the original texts – Ashtang Hridaya and Charaka Samhita.

105 – Nutrition & Cooking – 20 hours
In this module, students will learn general concepts of Ayurvedic Nutrition in structuring a diet. Students will learn about qualities and actions of various grains, legumes, spices, vegetables and greens. Student will also gain the knowledge of Pathya- Apathya and its importance, concepts and applicability of shad-rasa (six tastes), psycho-somatic effects of shad -rasa, over-use and / or abnormal uses of Rasas and diet for balancing Vata, Pitta and Kapha doshas. Students will learn hands- on, practical approaches for making various meal preparation for health promotion. Additionally, this course will also discuss the concept of Sattvic ahar and pathya used in various health conditions.

106 – Preventive Medicine (Swasthavritta) – 20 hours
This course will discuss the basic concepts of Swastha Vritta (Ayurvedic Preventive Medicine) that emphasizes on health. The role of mind, sense organs and emotions on the health of a person will also be discussed. Additionally, the students will obtain adequate knowledge to suggest proper daily diet and lifestyle based on individual’s body type and seasons to promote health and prevent disease
