What should I expect from a consultation? Will I get to know my constitution during my consultation?

On your first visit, your detailed medical history is taken, includes examination of your pulse, abdomen, tongue, eyes, skin nails. The practitioner will also ask you questions about your general health, paying special attention to your lifestyle, diet, habits, and surroundings. The practitioner will then recommend ways to restore your natural dosha balance, which almost always includes changes in lifestyle, especially diet. Herbs and therapies are suggested if needed.
Yes, you will know your body type as per Ayurvedic principles

Can I schedule  consultation over internet

Yes, you can schedule your consultation over internet. Your appointment time will be as per Beayurvedic Office times EST.

How is diagnosis done in Ayurveda?

Diagnostic in ayurveda are aimed to establish the stage of pathology and to decide the mode of therapies to be applied. The former implies eight and ten fold examination  and the second type of examination is to assess the strength and physical status of the individual so that accordingly the type of therapies and herbs are suggested.  
Prakruti (body constitution) Sara (tissue quality) Samhanana (physique) Sattva (mental strength) Satmya (specific adaptability), Aharshakti (diet intake capacity) Vyayama Shakti (exercise capacity) and Vaya (age)  is taken in consideration. Similarly Asthavidha pariksha (eight fold examination is followed for that includes Pulse, tongue voice skin eye elimination and general appearance examination

Are Ayurvedic herbs safe and free from side effects?

Ayurvedic herbs are safe and free from side effects if they are administered as per the experts 
advice.

Does it take long time to heal if I plan to follow Ayurvedic regimen?

No, it is a very common misconception regarding Ayurveda. The question is are you looking for a quick fix to band aid the symptoms or seeking to dissolve the deep-rooted cause for the imbalance.
If you are looking for a quick fix then Ayurveda is not the modality for you. If you are looking for removing the cause and restoring your balance towards health and joyous life, Ayurveda will surprise you with how in relative short time the imbalances are healed. 
There are several factors to be considered – age type of disease, degree of imbalance whether it is an acute or chronic imbalance how many doshas tissues organs and strotas are involved. 
The results depend on the above.

Do I have to be vegetarian to follow Ayurvedid lifestyle?

No, While Ayurveda supports a healthy seasonal vegetarian diet; it similarly prescribes animal protein if needed. Ayurveda works on the basis that what you eat will depend on which food serves your health. what you can digest? How you feel after eating those food items. Its main focus is on how your metabolism is and what it can handle

Do I have to follow certain religious path to incorporate Ayurvedic lifestyle?

No, Ayurveda is science of life and of health and its principles are universal and anybody can incorporate these changes in daily life.

Can Ayurveda help me prevent acute and chronic disease?

Ayurveda does not claim to treat any disease. By following Ayurvedic way of living one can regain the balance and many symptoms can be prevented and health can be restored.

Does Ayurveda help in mental conditions, depression, ADHD?

Yes, with gentle mind balancing tools and lifestyle and food changes, herbs and gentle therapies one can work on regaining balance on mind and body.
However Ayurvedic herbs are not replacement for your prescription  on anit depressants or anti-anxiety medications.

Will I get relief from Chronic pain following Ayurvedic lifestyle?

The goal of Ayurveda is to maintain health and happiness. In order to feel free from pain it is important to understand the cause of the pain. Pain is a symptom from many physical and emotional illness. Customized herbs, therapies, diet play an important role in reducing pain.
Focus of Ayurveda is just not to reduce pain yet further to have a sense of joy in life.

Can I take Ayurvedic herbs with my regular prescription and supplements

Yes, Ayurveda is NOT A REPLACEMENT for your prescription medications or any other supplements that your doctors have made recommendations.
We encourage you to talk to your doctor before making any changes in your supplements as well. Ayurvedic emphasis strongly believes in getting nutrition from food that we consume and plant base herbs, these changes can be slowly incorporated in addition to your current medication

Will my insurance cover Ayurveda?

Unfortunately, no, however we can certainly try if you can pay from your health savings account.
