What is Rasayana?
Creation, sustenance and destruction is the universal law. Birth, life and death is inevitable weather it be of a tiny cell that exists in our body. In order to have a supreme quality of the next generation of cells, its important to get rid of the excess wastes and stress the cell carries. A systematic branch was developed in order for the cells to function at the optimum level , and maintain the longevity of life called as Rasayana Chikitsa. One of the eight branches of Ayurveda.
Rasa has various meanings, ‘taste’, ‘essence’,’flavor’,’juice’,’emotion’,’alchemy’ but not limited to just these. Rasa denotes replenishment, preservation of energy. Ayana has different meanings too, ‘to increase’, ‘to circulate’ and ‘path’. Thus Rasayana is that, which will increase and promote the essence of life.
It fascinates me when I see the similarity of age old Ayurveda science and todays western life. Human kind then too suffered from similar kind of challenges that we have today, the nature of the diseases and stress must have been very different. Today we are exposed and stressed by traveling, social media, too little sleep, caffeine, sugar, alcohol, processed food, prescription drugs and many more factors that influence out health in negative way. It is important now to take step towards correcting those factors and understanding the inner physiology that is affected by lifestyle and food habits.
This Branch specifically educates us on how we can live a life with more efficiency and productivity. It focuses on all basics of life- food, lifestyle, stress relievers and certain rejuvenating herbs that expedites the process of eliminating the waste from the body and promotes vitality and vigor.
Maintaining health of a healthy person and curing the diseased is the main goal of Ayurveda.
Rasayana takes care of the prior part- maintaining health and promotes longevity.
At Beayurvedic center we take extra care of knowing once lifestyle, dietary regimen and then make suggestion of the best therapies as per body type and season.
